This education seminar was organised by the PRISMAP standards and harmonisation group.
The programme aimed at a better understanding of how to translate novel non-conventional radionuclides into radiopharmaceuticals for clinical application.
Thierry Stora (CERN) introduced the PRISMAP services. Mikael Jensen and Clive Naidoo from Hervesy Labs at the Danish Technical University in Denmark and Ferid Haddad from ARRONAX in France explored the many facets of novel radionuclide production. Clemens Decristoforo, a radiopharmacist from Medical University Innsbruck in Austria highlighted the critical role of the EU Pharmaceutical Regulations for novel radionuclides in radiopharmaceutical research and development. Eleni Gourni from the University Hospital Bern in Switzerland closed the event with a discussion on the development of theranostics in radiopharmacy. Theranostics refers to the pairing of diagnostic biomarkers with therapeutic agents that share a specific target in diseased cells or tissues.
